Volunteer Park, U Dub, Gas Works Park, Ballard Street Fair 7/26/08

Saturday we started out our touring by heading over to Volunteer Park to climb the observation tower.
A picture of the tip of Mt Rainier
It just looks like its floating

The Space Needle from the observation tower

Some of the 107 stairs.. I was kinda enamored... cause this picture looks like it could be going up OR down!

Dan, Kate, Steven

On to the University of Washington
we walked around the campus to check it out!

Steven & Dan by the fountain

The cool library building

On to gas works park
where we have no pictures of the old gas work equipment. :) Not sure how that happened!

Dell was doing a promotion of their new colored laptops
so they laid out beach towels for people to take
those towels are HUGE!!

Dan trying to show us how the sun dial worked
(trying because the sun was not cooperating very well!)
(I think a sundial in Seattle is silly! A 'raindial' would be better! :) )

Kate taking a picture!

Dan helping Steven get the kite off the ground.

Steven & Kate taking a go at the sun dial!

On to Ballard Street fair!
A town that celebrates Swedish heritage.

The promised Alligator on a stick!
We were not believing it would be here... but it was! :)
We tried it! It's pretty good!

Steven in a little store with a very excited expression and THE CHOCOLATE! So delicious! :)
