6/1/2009 A day in Vicksburg, MS

Went over to Vicksburg, MS for the day.
So much history.

The Mississippi River, so wide!

Us with the state sign

Candy & Becky at the state sign

We went to this 'little' museum. It was volunteer run and had some short videos. Very interesting.

Steven and Becky getting the layout of Vicksburg figured out.

Then we headed over to the Vicksburg National Military Park-

The entrance.

Candy and Becky, sitting and trying to cool off. It was SO hot. We would *KINDA* understand the heat that the soldiers would have been enduring in this muggy part of the country.

Us with a monument.

One little area of cannons.

A museum in the park.

Some history of the cairo.

A mural in Vicksburg. We spent the whole day at the park and missed out on any thing else the town offered.

us.

A cool use of cups and bottles.

and a different angle.

We missed it! :(

I liked this stores hours. 10-ISH to 5-ISH.
